Menopause specialist, Dr Louise Newson to join public suicide prevention event

Renowned menopause specialist Dr Louise Newson will join mental health experts for an online discussion exploring whether there are links between menopause and suicide.

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT), the region’s mental health provider will host the online suicide prevention event from midday-1pm on Tuesday 15 March.

Carers Workshop: How to support someone with suicidal thoughts

A one-day workshop for carers supporting people at risk of suicide is being organised by the region’s mental health provider, Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundations Trust (NSFT). 

The workshop will provide carers with coping skills and tools to help manage risk while also raising awareness of safety planning. It’s being held on Saturday 26 February, 10am-4pm over Zoom.

Fundraiser to build a therapeutic garden at West Suffolk mental health hospital underway

Patients and staff at Wedgwood House, mental health hospital have ambitious plans to create a therapeutic garden for the benefit of patients, staff, and the wider community.  

A small project team made up of NHS staff, outside volunteers and project partner Greener Growth (a Community Interest Company) have been filling their spare time collaborating and pulling ideas together and are now working to raise £90,000 to turn a piece of wasteland into a natural recovery haven.
